New York, Burger City: Two Manhattan Neighborhoods Snag Beloved Burgerterias

At Luxury Rentals Manhattan, we are not unaware that people browsing Manhattan rental apartment listings are often looking for different things. This is why we've built our search so that NYC apartment hunters can find apartments near subways and rental listings near parks and so on. It's our hope that a more focused and specific way to search Manhattan apartments will lead to a more satisfying and successful experience. That said, there is not currently a search function at LRM that enables you to find an apartment located near a delicious hamburger. For that, we use the LRM blog. No, seriously: we've covered Shake Shack pretty extensively in the past, and we're not going to stop doing that. We do it for you, readers. And also we do it because we're hungry, and because Shake Shack is delicious. And so it is with no small amount of delight that we inform Luxury Rentals Manhattan readers that rental listings in Battery Park City will very soon be rental listings near a delicious hamburger.

Where My (Spayed and Neutered) Dogs At: Lower East Side Luxury Rental The Ludlow Wants To Talk About Your Pet

Lower East Side luxury rental The Ludlow has more than one thing going for it, but among these is a location couldn't be more quintessentially Lower East Side. The blockbuster new LES rental sits just on the south side of Houston Street, across the street from the iconic (and incredibly delicious) Katz's Deli (and a short walk from such other old-school LES food landmarks as Russ and Daughters and Yonah Schimmel Knishery) and a short walk from circa-now LES haunts as varied as the posh Rivington Hotel and pioneering rock venue/bakery Cake Shop. But while few Lower East Side rental listings can boast quite as iconically a Lower East Side address as The Ludlow, the new construction luxury rental building has always seemed something of an outlier. The tallest building for blocks around, the stylish, glassy Ludlow couldn't look less like the humble ex-tenements that surround it. Which is a compliment of sorts, because The Ludlow is pretty great looking and Katz's (while incredibly delicious) is decidedly not. Instead of lording its good looks over the 'hood, though, The Ludlow is trying to be a good neighbor on the Lower East Side. At least when it comes to pet-related policies.

What Can Prosciutto Do For You: Has Mario Batali's Eataly Helped Murray Hill Rentals?

We're on the record here at the Luxury Rentals Manhattan blog with our feelings about new neighborhoods. But if you need a refresher, we're willing to entertain the possibility that neighborhoods such as The Linc (i.e. Hudson Yards) and NoMad could become hot new Manhattan residential 'hoods, but we're not necessarily on board with the goofy names. NoMad is the not-so-convincing but also not-so-bad name given to the rising neighborhood on the fringes of Murray Hill and Gramercy. We write about NoMad not because we're lovers of real estate conjuncto-neologisms -- although, of course, who isn't? -- but because it's actually a really interesting young neighborhood, and home to a couple of excellent rental listings, most notably The Biltmore Plaza and Madison Belvedere. More importantly, though, NoMad has a real buzz about it, thanks in large part to destination hangouts like Ace Hotel, a host of new luxury condos, and a bumper crop of hot new eateries. To say that Eataly, the blockbuster new Mario Batali-helmed Italian food emporium, has become one of NoMad's signature landmarks is a huge understatement. Eataly, in just a few short months in business, has helped make NoMad one of Manhattan's hottest food neighborhoods -- and boosted this sub-neighborhood's fortunes even higher. Especially among those of us who enjoy prosciutto.

The Upper East Side Is Delicious, Part Two: UES's East 86th Street Scores Another Iconic Manhattan Food Spot, Neighborhood Rejoices

Fairway Upper East Side Luxury Rentals Manhattan

Beloved Manhattan grocery institution Fairway bills itself with the slogan, “Like No Other Market.” Which is true insofar as no other NYC market we at Luxury Rentals Manhattan can name has higher stacks of produce, a more competitive olive bar -- even Amar'e Stoudemire could get boxed out in there -- and a better selection of gourmet foods. For Upper East Siders, though, the sad fact of the matter was that Fairway was like no other market on the Upper East Side. Which takes nothing away from the Upper East Side, which has its own unique charm and charisma (and some very nice luxury rental listings, naturally). But the Upper West Side-envy with which Upper East Siders were previously afflicted should be ameliorated by the news that a new Fairway outpost will be moving into the old Barnes and Noble spot on East 86th Street this winter. While it's tempting to say that the Upper East Side's new Fairway is is Like No Other Asset To The UES, there is actually one with which it has something in common -- that would be the new Upper East Side Shake Shack, which opened just a couple blocks west on East 86th Street. The Upper East Side has always been one of Manhattan's elite places to live, and home to some of the finest luxury rental listings in Manhattan. Now, belatedly, it's increasingly home to the sort of fun, Upper West Side-y foodie joints that it had previously been missing. If you're wondering how this makes Upper East Side rental listings more appealing, you obviously haven't been to Fairway (or Shake Shack) recently.

Fresher, More Direct: Green Rentals In Battery Park Bring Farm-Fresh Produce To Lower Manhattan

As we've written before, and proved time and again, the Luxury Rentals Manhattan blog is secretly about food. Yes, we write about Manhattan rental apartments most of the time, but from the neighborhood-enhancing aspects of Shake Shack to the farmers markets of the Financial District, we will definitely write something about food when the time's right (or when there's nothing else to write about). Today, thankfully, our two usual topics -- food and Manhattan luxury rentals -- have come together in a bit of good news involving the green rental listings of Battery Park City. As Manhattan real estate heads know, many Battery Park City rental listings are green rentals, but the ones developed by Manhattan green rental superstars The Albanese Organization have taken green building a step further -- by actually providing access to fresh greens (and tomatoes, and beans, and corn, and potatoes) to residents of Battery Park green rental stars The Solaire and The Verdesian. The pioneering CSA-delivery program set up by The Albanese Organization is another reason why they're officially LRM heroes, and more proof that Battery Park City is one of the greenest and most appealing places to live in Manhattan.
