Named after the historic Flatiron Building, which was completed in 1902, this residential neighborhood is inhabited by artists, fashion designers, models, tech aficionados, and businessmen alike. The neighborhood is nestled between Midtown and Lower Manhattan, and is one of the city’s most iconic locations. It stretches from 14th to 30th Street, between Sixth and Park Avenue. Scattered across this Manhattan neighborhood are divine and historic examples of the city’s pre-war architecture, which mingle with new construction buildings—the district’s primary charm. Madison Square Park, a peaceful green space in the center of this laid-back neighborhood, provides a mélange of concerts and art exhibits. New high-rise, luxury rentals continue to populate the area, making the district an ideal place to reside.
This neighborhood was also once known as Ladies’ Mile in the late 1800s for its fashionable row of department stores along Broadway. Today, high-end fashion retailers and tech startups continue to fill in the district.
