Not to be confused with the concert venue, this laid-back, quiet neighborhood is located within the Upper East Side, and stretches from 86th Street to 96th Street, between Third and Fifth Avenue. Named for the Carnegie Mansion on 91st Street and Fifth Avenue, which today houses the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Carnegie Hill is considered to be one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Manhattan. It is home to exuberant mansions, private schools, and high-end retailers, as well as renowned museums, such as the Guggenheim. Grocery stores, barbers, dry cleaners, and liquor stores are all within a walkable radius. Locals greet each other with a smile, and the area is the ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is easily accessible to three subway lines (4, 5, 6), and is just a walk away from Central Park. Carnegie Hill is the neighborhood for chic, high-end living.
