Hudson Yards is located just north of Chelsea and west of Midtown’s bustling activities. Situated on the Hudson River waterfront, Hudson Yards is the largest planned development project in U.S. history — 16 skyscrapers and millions of sqft of new office, residential, and retail space will populate the neighborhood, which spans 26 to 28 acres. All of this will be built on platforms over currently functioning railways, making it an engineering and technological feat unseen in the modern era, and that’s not including how advanced its skyscrapers will be.
The master-planned, mixed-use community has been more than ten years in the making. Seen as a mini-city by many, Hudson Yards will include thousands of luxury unit apartments upon completion, and the numerous office and retail space in the area makes living, eating, and working in one area a reality. The “Vessel,” a 16-story structure perfect for views of the neighborhood and walks, establishes a public square in the midst of modern high-rises.
While Hudson Yards is only a few blocks from Penn Station, it is served by its own 7-line subway station which recently opened in 2015. Hundreds of new shops and restaurants are set to welcome customers continuously over the next few years. And if these perks weren’t enough, a section of The High Line wraps around the entire neighborhood that easily takes you to Chelsea. Hudson Yards is the newest and most anticipated project in the ever-growing New York City.
