While some modern apartments advertise their sustainability, Gotham West, the massive apartment building at 550 West 45th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, is attempting to entice future tenants with sustenance.
Hell’s Kitchen has no shortage of gourmet restaurants, and Gotham West plans to take part in the food-loving culture of the neighborhood, as Gotham West Market will open this fall in the building’s base. Inside the market, gourmet vendors and restaurants including The Cannibal, Blue Bottle Coffee and the Ivan Ramen Slurp Shop will all be open to the residents of 550 West 45th street, as well as the public.
But, as they say, variety is the spice of life. Knowing that residents won’t always be choosing Gotham West Market for their meals, even the kitchens in the studio apartments are full-sized and fit with state-of-the-art appliances from KitchenAid and Bosch. One model studio even claims to have seating for up to 10 people.
If residents of Gotham West want a little more space to entertain their dinner guests, they can take advantage of an enormous demonstration kitchen space for events. The space will also be available to residents on a regular basis for free breakfasts provided by the building staff.
Luxury amenities at 550 West 45th Street do not end with the food. Residents have access to crosstown shuttles, private outdoor garden courtyard and a fully landscaped rooftop terrace with a bar, movie screen and Hudson River views. Living at Gotham West will also grant tenants access to a gym with top-of-the-line equipment and daily yoga and spinning classes.
The Gotham West mega-project has drawn plenty of attention simply because of the 1,238 apartments it will house. Of those apartments, 554 of them will be rented at market rate. Studio apartment rentals will start at $2,700 per month, one-bedrooms at $3,600, two-bedrooms at $5,600 and the massive three-bedrooms starting at $9,700 and going up to $15,000 per month.
