Extell Purchases Another Development Site

Extell has scooped up yet another new development site, a former Carnegie Deli that closed just last year. Located in West Midtown at 854 Seventh Avenue, the building currently stands six stories tall, but that won't last long.

New Rental Development Will Take Up An Entire Block in Brooklyn

A large rental development is coming to Brooklyn, at 350 Clarkson Street. Hudson Companies announced their plans for the eight-story building, which will be designed by CetraRubby.

19-story Residential Building Will Join Solow’s 57th Street Empire

In 1974, developer Sheldon Solow built the glassy, dramatically sloping 50-story tower at 9 West 57th Street. In 2005, he picked up the building right next door at 7 West 57th Street, for $25,550,000 and until now, the 32-foot-wide property remained untouched after being converted into offices in the 1950’s.

Another Residential Building Added to the Lower East Side

The skyline of the Lower East Side continues to change, with L+M Partners and CIM Group’s towers at 259 Cherry Street, as well as Extell’s condo building at One Manhattan, and now, joining these two large development projects at 259 Clinton Street, Eastman Architects will bring the 724-foot, glass tower that will hold 732 apartments within the 62-stories.

Recently, the developer AvalonBay Communities unveiled plans at 321 East 96th Street that will transform the massive property into an equally massive 68-story residential building, along with three schools–one of which will soon be demolished for this plan, and two others in the Upper East and West side.

Gamma Real Estate has already filed plans to build a 67-story residential building at 3 Sutton Place, only weeks after purchasing the site for about $98 million.

Sunset Park’s Mixed-Use Development

A massive mix-use building is coming to Sunset Park’s eighth avenue between 61st and 64th street. Plans for this project had been altered quite a bit, but Architect Raymond Chan will finally be moving forward with a plan that consists of a mall, a 12-story residential tower, an 11-story hotel, and a pre-K school.

The residential portion of the project is planned to hold 250 rental apartments, while the hotel will have 150 rooms. The biggest change to the original plan is the addition of the school, which will be private and seat 498 students.

Jenga Building will Bring Luxury Rentals to Brooklyn

Many renderings have dropped for the new sleek residential building planned  for 207 South 23rd Street, but a final plan for this jenga-like structure has now been revealed. This soon-to-be residential building will rise only eight stories and will hold 10 rental apartments.

Glassy MoMa Inspired Tower Coming to the High Line


West 21st street and 11th Ave

The latest project slated to come to the High Line is inspired by the MoMa’s sculpture garden, allowing it to fit right in with the other unique starachetic’s structures. London Studio Seilern Architects plan to bring this 24-story glass tower to the corner of West 21st street and 11th Ave., across from Norman Foster’s 551W21.

The tower will have commercial space that will hold a gallery on the lower levels as well as a reception area and sculpture garden. Above that will be residential units.
